Vertex Aeration

Dissolved oxygen levels are dependent on the physical, chemical and biochemical activities prevailing in the water body. Adding oxygen to your waterway through aeration can help reduce the nutrients that promote algae growth by speeding up the breakdown of organic matter at the bottom, reducing the nutrient rich muck buildup.

Removing stratification through aeration also balances the pH levels and ensures that fish and other organisms have the oxygen they need at all levels throughout the year.

Clean Lakes offers Vertex Water Features lake aeration systems and floating fountains to support the health and aesthetics of your waterway.

Pond Restoration Through Aeration

Healthy ponds and lakes have the proper balance of oxygen and nutrients to sustain plants, fish and other living organisms. There are two sources for oxygen in the water; as a byproduct of photosynthesis, or from currents or wind pushing oxygen through the surface. Oxygen depletion occurs because oxygen is used even when there is insufficient natural water current, wind or sunlight occuring:

  • Above the water - at night, during overcast days, trees, ice, snow or other cover
  • In the water - from over abundance of algae or aquatic weeds at the surface caused by thermal stratification, warm water at the surface, cool water at the bottom. Find out more about algae in your lake. Download PDF file

No matter what the cause of low oxygen in your pond, adding diffused oxygen to the water column is the permanent solution to increase water circulation, prevent stagnant-thermally stratified water, and reduce muck; restoring a healthy, balanced pond ecosystem.

A pond aeration system is a big investment. If you are not sure of the size of your pond, or what system will work best for you we can help. Satellite technology and field inspections are used to measure ponds to ensure you get the correct product for the size, shape, slope and depth of your pond.

Floating Fountains

Form vs. function. It's an argument that takes place in any decision making process when the topic involves something that is sought primarily for its aesthetic quality. If all that mattered was initial impact and beauty of a fountain, any manufacturer would do.

It is understood that the fountain needs to work smoothly and efficiently over a long period of time as well. That is why so much is put into ensuring that all of the individual components are built from the highest quality materials and assembled to exacting standards.

Vertex Water Features floating lake fountain designs begin in research and development, go through extensive production, inspection, installation and finally, testing to ensure products meet your specific needs for a striking focal point in your lake.
